This September, the Curran team is taking part in The Long Run to raise money and awareness for prostate cancer and to support the Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia (PCFA).
We’ll be taking on 72km throughout September, with our team running, walking or riding our way towards the goal. But for us, this campaign is about more than covering the kilometres. It’s about supporting a cause that has a very personal connection to the Curran family.
Why prostate cancer is important to us
Curran was started by Pat Curran more than 36 years ago and he has faced prostate cancer himself, making this a cause that hits close to home for our family and our wider Curran team.
Every September, we get behind the Prostate Cancer Foundation Australia to help raise awareness and support their work in prostate cancer research, support and education.
Prostate cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australian men, and it can develop without obvious symptoms. That’s why staying proactive about prostate health is so important.
A PSA blood test can help detect prostate cancer early, so talk to your doctor and ask about getting a PSA test.
Getting the Curran team moving
To kick off our Long Run challenge, we got the team together for a workout at Reddall Reserve with Kallium from Vision Personal Training Wollongong.
It was a great way to get everyone moving, have a laugh and start preparing for the 72km challenge ahead.
Over the course of September, members of our team will be running, walking and riding to reach our 72km goal.
Whether you’re taking part yourself or simply donating, every bit of support helps us contribute to an important cause.
